IN-DEPTH INFO ABOUT THE CURRICULUMS

ICSE

A comprehensive, well-structured syllabus designed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, the ICSE curriculum aims to provide practical knowledge and build analytical skills in students. The curriculum’s ethos is: minimum monitoring, freedom to experiment with ideas, and students evolving their own niche. It focuses on the child’s overall growth by giving equal importance to all subjects. With an emphasis on the detailed study of each subject with an edge over English, this curriculum also offers the flexibility of selecting subjects that the students like and want to study.

ISC

The ISC curriculum is designed to improve oral and writing skills, along with in-depth learning of various concepts, which focuses on the overall development of students. A critical two-year “stream-based”, subject-specific, competency-based teaching and learning and assessment programme which is offered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination. The ISC curriculum places a lot of importance on English literature & language along with elective subjects. It is very systematic; disciplined & the difficulty level of the subjects is equally distributed in exams. At JGS, the ISC curriculum is offered to students of classes XI & XII with English as the medium of instruction in the following streams,

IBDP

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is highly respected and widely recognized by leading universities across the globe. For students, success in the IB often translates into advanced standing, course credits, scholarships, and other admissions benefits at many prestigious institutions. IB graduates are exceptionally well-prepared to meet the demands of the 21st century and enjoy significantly higher acceptance rates at top universities worldwide.

SUBJECTS OFFERED IN JIB

The IBDP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and all subjects are offered in Higher Level [HL] and Standard Level [SL] except for French . Students will opt for 1 subject from each group. If Group 6 is not opted then the 6th option can be chosen from Group 3 or Group 4. Students will opt for three subjects at Higher level (HL) and three at Standard level (SL). The DP core comprises Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and the Extended Essay.

Admissions into best National and International universities

Since 2008 Johnson IBDP students have taken admissions in many Indian universities and universities abroad, pursuing Sciences Engineering, Medical Studies, Business, Economics, Literature, Design, Law, Media, Journalism and Art studies.
IBDP students have much higher acceptance rates at leading top and best universities in India and all around the world.
IBDP students are better able to cope with demanding workloads, manage their time and meet the expectations placed on them.

The avenues open to an IBDP graduate are truly diverse and far-reaching. Johnson IBDP alumni have gone on to pursue excellence across a wide spectrum of fields—ranging from Business Studies at Harvard and IIM, to Engineering at IIT and leading private universities, as well as Medicine, Economics, Finance, Law, Fine Arts, Literature, and many other disciplines.
